Here is some important information you may need.
Book bags need to be brought into school for changing on a Tuesday and will be returned to take home on a Wednesday.
PE this term will be on a Thursday afternoon so please arrive to school in your PE kit on that day.
As many of you know, Year 1 can often be a busy year but below are some key things that can be done to help further your learning at home.
1. Letter formation. Practice your uppercase and lowercase letters so that you are ready write.
2. Reading. Please try and read for 10 minutes at least 4 times a week, and don't forget to sign your reading record!
3. When out exploring the world, try to spot and recognise numbers on everyday objects. You could even try and count items up to 50!

In year 1 we place an enormous focus on phonics in preparation for the phonics screening check that happens towards the end of every academic year. For our current Year 1 students the phonics screening will take place on the week beginning 13.06.23, so please make sure your child is present in school that week.
